Japanese Exclusive PlayStation Release 'Clock Tower: The First Fear' Fan Translated Into English

Clock-Tower-First-Feat-PlayStation-English-Translation-PatchIn 1997 Human Entertainment re-released their popular Super Famicom exclusive horror-adventure Clock Tower on the Sony PlayStation. Arriving as an enhanced port with additional scenes and FMV sequences, fans of the series could once again step into the suspense and make the most of the then advanced 32-bit hardware. Although the game's sequel was released elsewhere around the world in other languages, it's only as of now we enjoy the original and Japanese only adventure in English following the arrival of a fan translation patch.

If Clock Tower is something you're yet to become familiar with, the series made its debut on the Super Famicom in 1995 featuring a blend of both point 'n' click adventuring with the psychological horror genre. Taking control of Jennifer Simpson, you soon find yourself dashing around a mansion, avoiding none other than an evil orphan carrying an over-sized pair of scissors. With several paths to take and murders to discover, the game offers a rather deep and surreal story which is further complimented by the traditional cursor based gameplay. Unlike the likes of Monkey Island and Day of the Tentacle though, death does await around the corner and you'll need to be sure to keep your character moving.

Those interested in ticking through Clock Tower: The First Fear on the PlayStation need look no further than this newly released fan translation patch. The patch is contained in an xDelta file, which can be applied to a legally obtained image of the game with the easy to use software xDeltaUI.
