Japanese Exclusive Nintendo Game Boy RPG 'Wizardry Gaiden II: Curse of the Ancient Emperor' Fan Translated Into English

Wizardry-Gaiden-II-Curse-of-the-Ancient-Emperor-English-TranslationAt the back end of 2013 a talented ROM hacker managed to translate into English the first portable entry into the Wizardry series on the Nintendo Game Boy. Just mere weeks later, the second Japanese exclusive pocket title - Wizardry Gaiden II: Curse of the Ancient Emperor - has also been localised unofficially.

Similar to the previous release in the series, this sequel (also known as Wizardry Gaiden 2 - Kodai Koutei no Nor) features incredibly text-heavy gameplay accompanied by traditional role-playing battles fans of the genre know and love. Although the slow-paced gameplay might not be everyone's cup of tea, the Wizardry series is an iconic one which deserves looking at for its undeniable influence on later RPGs.

Fan translator and ROM hacker Tangyi_Chang recently released an English fan translation patch for Wizardry Gaiden II: Curse of the Ancient Emperor on ROMHacking.net, leaving those who happen to have this Game Boy ROM at the ready with the option of enjoying the game in English.

As usual, to enjoy this fan translation patch you will need to have an original Wizardry Gaiden II: Curse of the Ancient Emperor Nintendo Game Boy ROM file to which you can apply this patch to. Full instructions on how to patch this ROM can be found within the download, or you can refer to this handy ROM patching guide on YouTube.
