Japanese Exclusive Nintendo Famicom 'Kai no Bouken (The Quest of Ki) Fan Translation Patch Released

The-Quest-of-Ki-TranslationHaving been quite sometime since the masses of talented ROM hackers gifted us access to another Japanese exclusive retro game, we're pleased to announce that the prologue to The Tower of Druaga has been fan translated. This 8-bit platformer, Kai no Bouken (also known as The Quest of Ki) can finally be enjoyed in English.

This Namco published title by Game Studio first hit the Nintendo Famicom back in 1988, four years after the initial release of The Tower of Druaga. Despite arriving later, The Quest of Ki is a prequel to the original title in the long lived Babylonian Castle Saga series.

The Quest of Ki puts you in control of the priestess Ki who's attempting to recover the stolen Blue Crystal Rod from the evil demon Druaga. This side-scrolling adventure features one hundred levels, each requiring a key to open up the exit - along with countless enemies and treasure chests. While seeming to be your standard platformer, you'd be foolish to take The Quest of Ki lightly, for our protagonist holds no weapons nor method of destroying enemies.

Each and every batch of dialogue in Ki's adventure has now been translated into English, allowing us to finally understand what's going on in this long lost 8-bit quest.
