Japanese Exclusive Nintendo DS 'Retro Game Challenge 2' Fan Translated Into English

Game-Center-CX-2-English-Fan-TranslationJapanese comedian Shinya Arino is no stranger to classic games. Hosting his very own TV show Game Center CX, Arino often tackles infuriating Famicom classics until either the game or he himself is beaten. Proving incredibly popular, a trio of portable games were made based on the series - one of which has just been translated into English.

If you haven't already checked out Game Center CX, be sure to head on over to YouTube and have a glance over the various clips that have made it online. The unusual combination of humour and pixels is a somewhat perfect mix which makes for some great viewing.

The very first video game release of the series known as GameCenter CX: Arino no Chousenjou, was released on the Nintendo DS and surprisingly made its way to the US under the name Retro Game Challenge. The game itself is a huge celebration of our gaming past, featuring a collection of standalone titles based on countless classics. Although it was anything but a big seller, the game itself went on to become a cult classic and one highly regarded by fans.

Unfortunately the first title in the series was the only one to receive an English release, as both the Nintendo DS sequel and 3DS follow up remained import exclusives - at least until now. Thanks to talented ROM hackers and fan translators, a downloadable patch has been released online to replace all of the text in Game Center CX: Arino no Chousenjou 2 into English.

Game Center CX: Arino no Chousenjou 2 (Gameplay)

As usual, to enjoy this ROM hack patch you will need to have a legally obtained original Game Center CX: Arino no Chousenjou 2 ROM file to which you can apply this patch to. Full instructions on how to patch this ROM can be found within the download, or you can refer to this handy ROM patching guide on YouTube.
