Japanese Exclusive MSX2 RPG 'Xak: The Tower of Gazzel' Fan Translated Into English

Xak-Tower-of-Gazzel-MSX2-English-Translation-PatchIn 1989 Japanese gamers were treated to yet another regional-exclusive RPG series known as Xak - spanning numerous home computer and console platforms. Drawing inspiration from the Ys series, developers Micro Cabin released four titles under the Xak name, one of which has just been translated into English.

While several Xak titles have already been given the fan translation treatment on different platforms, fans of the MSX range of computers will be pleased to know that Xak: The Tower of Gazzel is finally playable in English. This sequel to the second game in the series explores the storyline between Xak II and Xak III, giving more depth as to what happened between the two main games.

If you’re yet to play one of the Xak games, the series takes a traditional top down RPG approach to gameplay whilst sticking to combat similar to that of the Zelda series. With a large tower to explore and puzzles to tackle, Xak: The Tower of Gazzel is a stunning looking adventure for its time on the MSX2 platform, and one fans of the genre should definitely check out.
