Japanese Exclusive Game Boy Color Dungeon Crawler 'Wizardry Empire' Fan Translated Into English

Wizardry-Empire-Game-Boy-Color-Fan-Translation-PatchOver the last two years, the first three Japanese exclusive Wizardry games on the Nintendo Game Boy were fan translated into English. Now joining this trio of text heavy dungeon crawlers is a spin-off from the main series on the Game Boy Color, Wizardry Empire.

Originally released in 2000, this portable outing of Wizardry Empire featured everything hardcore RPG fanatics loved about the series, only this time the adventure was in colour. Featuring Phantasy Star style dungeons and Dragon Quest flavoured battles, like many other entries in the series Wizardry offers plenty of familiar fun.

Having said that though, the game offers very little in in terms of visuals - further suggesting why the game never left Japan. But don't let the multiple walls of text put you off. As the loyal fan-base of Wizardry will tell you, there's a lot on offer underneath the heavy reading.

Wizardry Empire (Game Boy Color) Untranslated Gameplay

As usual, to enjoy this ROM hack you will need to have a legally obtained original Wizardry Empire Game Boy Color ROM to which you can apply this patch to. Full instructions on how to patch this ROM can be found within the project's thread, or you can refer to this handy ROM patching guide on YouTube.
