Believe it or not but the 1997 Nintendo Game Boy classic Donkey Kong Land III was updated and rereleased on the Game Boy Color. This full colour Japanese exclusive revival, however, never left the Far East. Those wanting to enjoy this treat in English are now in luck thanks to a fan translation patch.
Released in the year 2000, this updated version of Donkey Kong Land III known as Donkey Kong GB: Dinky Kong & Dixie Kong is by far the best version to play thanks to the added colour which delivers a whole new level of depth to the once monochromatic adventure. Why Nintendo didn’t release this update worldwide is anyone’s guess, especially given how successful the series was worldwide.
While action heavy games such as Donkey Kong Land don’t really need much of a translation, it’s always much more enjoyable experiencing games as if they were intended for English speaking audiences.
