James Pond's Return Via Kickstarter Comes To An Early End

James-Pond-Kickstarter-CancelledDespite plenty of anticipation and excitement surrounding the upcoming revival of James Pond, the team behind the aquatic hero's Kickstarter project have decided to pull the plug early. With a lack of funding behind the project and the clock ticking, Gameware had plenty to say in a honest update to the retro gaming community.

The main issue Gameware were facing is that without any clear indication of what their Kickstarter backers would be funding, they remained reluctant to make their pledges. With no gameplay footage in sight, screenshots nor much artwork to boot, it's fair to say that too many questions were left unanswered where this 90s character's comeback was concerned.

Nevertheless, in Gameware's latest update, they do continue on to announce that Pond will be back. When, how or when is yet to be known, however, with the likes of Chris Sorrell on board, we remain hopeful that it will be sometime soon.

Lot of failed projects recently with General Chaos 2, Mutant League looks to fall short and this one too kind of a shame but surprised it costs so much to release it on PC

A shame but not a surprise, they had little to show and asked for a lot in a very short space of time. I think they'll be back eventually. I backed this one in the small hope they'd make another games as good as Robocod ;)
