During the late nineties - before the likes of Halo and Call of Duty - gaming respect was won through GoldenEye 007 deathmatches on the Nintendo 64. The multiplayer mayhem provided many of us with arenas to memorise and weapons to fight over, but when put to the test, how well would the movie's leading actor Pierce Brosnan hold up playing the game?
A good decade and a half since the movie's release, US talk show host Jimmy Fallon recently sat down with Brosnan to discuss his colourful career. During their exchange Fallon was quick to bring out a boxed copy of GoldenEye 007 on the Nintendo 64, discuss his love for the title, and then confess to dreaming of taking on James Bond himself in person.
As expected, just out of view was a Nintendo 64 hooked up to a projector awaiting the challenge. Brosnan happily accepted and the two stepped into the Complex with Power Weapons turned on. Much to everyone's disappointment, Brosnan hardly put up a fight and fell to the floor whilst throwing out trademark slaps instead of firepower.
Regardless of the quick outcome, it's great seeing the face of a Nintendo 64 classic taking on the very game which created countless memories and good times growing up.
