Indie Retro Platformer 'Abbaye Des Morts' Ported To ZX Spectrum

Abbaye-Des-Morts-Ported-To-ZX-SpectrumOver the last few years we've seen an influx of indie developments and mobile games which opted to use traditional pixel art, in an attempt to mimic our gaming past. Abbaye Des Morts, a freeware platformer released in 2010 for Windows used a visual style similar to that of countless ZX Spectrum games. Four years later though, the imitation has become reality following ZX Spectrum coders porting the retro-themed title to the microcomputer.

Following in the footsteps of Jet Set Willy and Manic Miner, both the original and ZX Spectrum port of Abbaye Des Morts feature the old-school multi-screen platforming action we've all grown to love. The game puts you in control of a religious preacher attempting to out run crusaders who disagree with his practice, only to find himself fleeing into a haunted church harbouring plenty of secrets.

With plenty of rooms to explore and enemies to evade, Abbaye Des Morts holds plenty of gameplay for both ZX Spectrum and retro gaming fans, along with some stylish visuals. This ZX Spectrum homebrew has been released online for free as a downloadable TZX file, which can either be enjoyed via and emulator, or on the original hardware using the likes of a DivIDE.
