Indie Hit VVVVVV Demade For ZX Spectrum In 'Heart Stealer 2'

Heart-Stealer-2In 2010 Terry Cavanagh released an incredible indie classic which provided both a nod to retro gaming and an insane challenge to boot. VVVVVV soon became a fan favourite and found itself ported to many different platforms, along with several demakes and adaptations. As of today though, the experience has now been brought to the ZX Spectrum.

This all new remake for the Sinclair computer, however, isn't exactly based on Cavanagh's original. Heart Stealer 2 is infact a demake of industry figure Markus 'Notch' Persson's Java 4K remake of VVVVVV known as VVVV. Instead of sticking to the visual style of VVVVVV - which would be quite easily achieved on the ZX Spectrum - Heart Stealer 2 introduces a much more chunky approach, while keeping the addictively challenging gameplay intact.

Luckily enough for us, Heart Stealer 2 has been made available to download for free by its creator. The game's downloadable TAP can be either enjoyed in a ZX Spectrum emulator or on the original hardware with the likes of a DivIDE.
