Indie Game 'Spud's Quest' Set To Revisit Our Gaming Past

Indie-Game-Spuds-Quest-Set-To-Revisit-Our-Gaming-PastIf the recent Dizzy Returns Kickstarter news wasn't retro enough for you, then we have a worthy spiritual successor to bring to your attention. Spud's Quest is a brand new indie game with just a few days left to back - one which hopes to capture everything you loved about the adventure platforming genre of yesteryear.

Spud's Quest is the latest creation from RetroCollect user ChrisD, a game which he is hoping to bring over to Windows, Android and iOS with your help. Featuring stunning pixel art environments, adorable characters and an accompanying chiptune soundtrack both Allister Brimble and Matthew Simmonds would be proud of, Spud's Quest seems to have everything retro gamers could possibly want from a neo-retro title.

This all new adventure seems to build upon the foundations the likes of Dizzy created, only to mix in a few new elements. For example, Spud is accompanied by a frog with a similar use to that of Banjo's Kazooie, a helpful sidekick who is set to help you reach those troublesome jumps. One of the many interesting ideas carefully executed within.

The game is currently seeking funding of £5,000 on Kickstarter, with just 5 days left to go and is just £1,779 short of being successful at the time of writing.

A downloadable demo of Spud's Quest has since been made available to convince you to pledge to the cause, one we strongly encourage you all take a look at.
