Extremely Rare PAL Super Nintendo Legend Of Zelda A Link To The Past Gold Pack Surfaces On eBay

As far as Super Nintendo rarities go, there are very few which can rival the likes of Whirlo, X-Zone and Super Chase HQ. The Zelda Gold Pack, a big box version of The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past containing a strategy guide, is one of these. Being a Zelda title and a Scandanavian exclusive, it's currently at the centre of a bidding war.

The big box Super Nintendo game most retro gamers will be familiar with is Super Metroid. Like the Zelda Gold Pack, Super Metroid came bundled with a large strategy guide and the game cartridge. Where the two differ though is that the Zelda Gold Pack also contains a regular size Super Nintendo game box inside containing the game cartridge.

Aside from the game being bundled in a limited edition box with a strategy guide, there are no real differences to set apart the actual game. Those who already have the regular version of A Link To The Past can rest easy and continue enjoying their Hyrule adventure. Fans of the Zelda series and retro game collectors, however, have a battle more fierce than one with Ganon on their hands. As this elusive rarity has not been seen on eBay for quite some time, you can expect this title's final bid to be one which requires a huge rupee wallet.

It's always awesome when you come across really rare stuff like this on eBay. I found the Simon Belmont clear variant figure on eBay, which is incredibly rare. Ended up snagging the win to add another piece to my Castlevania collection. Zelda collectors must be biting their nails over this one.

Being a hardcore Zelda collector is not a cheap endeavour. Between this, the Majora's Mask Adventurer's Set, the Oracles set and the Minish Cap set, you're looking at at least a couple of grand.

It is now at over £1000 and there are still 8 days to go! this is going to be an amazing final amount....but it is so good to see that this is a game that has been well looked after, and not protected in some way so it has never been played (VGA etc).

I thought for a laugh that I would watch this to see where it would lead - it is now up to £3.5K! It cannot be THAT rare, surely?

I dont know if someone is bidding up the price (maybe a friend of the seller?) but the price seems way too high

I've also seen collectors who have talked about seeing a few of these sell for alot less, if you google, you can find some forums where people have discussed the value etc over the past few years
