Despite turning 28 years old today, the Nintendo Famicom lives on both historically and commercially. As countless factories continue to produce bootleg versions of the 1983 hardware along with compatible cartridges, the Famicom name shows no sign of slowing down.
The Hong Kong based online retailer known as NDSCardSale recently added a large selection of bootleg Nintendo Famicom cartridges to their online catalogue. Instead of selling cartridges hosting a single game, the majority of the cartridges available feature a decent selection of three or more Famicom games.
Amongst the choice lies greats such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trilogy, a Contra cartridge offering 24 different flavours of the shooter and also the fantastic Adventure Island trilogy on one cartridge. If only they could now squeeze all six Mega Man titles onto one...
While we cannot vouch for the quality of the games nor service offered, the price tag of $2.99 per cartridge seems all too tempting for a selection of great Nintendo games bundled together. Those interested but yet to own a Famicom compatible device may want to direct their eyes towards the selection of Famiclones on offer. The Funstatation 3 is by far the most interesting of the bunch given the direct attempt to mimic the PlayStation 3's cosmetic features.
