Homebrew Platformer 'PowerPig' Oinks Onto Game Boy Advance

PowerPig-Game-Boy-Advance-HomebrewOnce again NeoFlash are holding their annual homebrew coding competition and the entries are already flying in. One of the more notable additions is the latest release from the quirky Game Boy Advance programmer Genecyst - the brains behind 2010's addictive handheld shooter, Holy Hell. Needless to say this new pocket release PowerPig is as crazy as it sounds.

Drawing inspiration from arcade classics Snow Bros and Parasol Stars, PowerPig is a puzzle platformer for Nintendo's handheld, one which also manages to squeeze in a few nods to Katamari Damacy. Armed with a gravity gun which reloads through collecting coins, you must guide the porky protagonist through the pixelated scenery, gather up as many enemies as possible and make your way to the exit.

Although simplistic in its approach, the odd nature of PowerPig coupled with its oinking mad soundtrack and cutesy visuals make it a must play for any Game Boy Advance owners - as well as a potential forerunner for NeoFlash's 2013 coding competition. PowerPig has been released online to download for free in ROM format.
