Home Computer Frustrate-em-up 'Rick Dangerous' Unofficially Blasts Onto Super Nintendo

Rick-Dangerous-SNES-Port-AnnouncedIn 1989 Core Design - who would later go on to create the Tomb Raider series - began life creating software for various home computers. One of their first offerings was the incredibly clever, yet difficult, Rick Dangerous. Despite being of console quality, the memorable title remained a home computer exclusive, at least until the arrival of console homebrew.

Over the years homebrew developers have ported Rick Dangerous to a few other consoles such as the Sega Mega Drive, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast. As of recent though, Rick Dangerous looks set ot make his unofficial debut on a Nintendo console following the announcement of a SNES port that's under way.

Homebrew developer Alekmaul, who is better known for his frequent work in the retro gaming scene, also stated that he is hoping to release the Super Nintendo version of Rick Dangerous on a physical cartridge. Teaming up with Piko Interactive, the duo are currently seeking the rights to go ahead with their plans to gift Rick Dangerous official entry into the console world.
