Following on from the ZX Spectrum's 30th birthday last month, a port of Head Over Heels – a classic title for the system – will be released on iOS next week.
This re-release, which claims to be a pixel perfect copy of the 1987 original, is being handled by Elite Systems – who were behind the ZX Spectrum: Elite Collection on iOS earlier this year.
Originally developed by Jon Ritman and Bernie Drummond (and published by Ocean Software), Head Over Heels is an isometric platformer puzzler that sees you control two characters – Head and Heels - through some odd environments.
It rightly received heaps of critical praise on its release, and ended making its way onto a range of other systems – such as the Atari ST and Amiga.
There will be a range of controls options (including iCade compatibility), the choice to play it in both portrait and landscape orientation, and an auto-save feature for this upcoming iOS version.
A price is yet to be given, but it will be released as both an in-app purchase within the ZX Spectrum: Elite Compilation app as well as a standalone release.
