In a recent and rather surprising announcement Google has stated that they developed a version of their popular Google Maps application for the Nintendo Entertainment System.
Google claim this to be their 'first' project for the NES which features a brand new cartridge design which allows the NES to connect to Google. The 8-bit maps are generated in real time once the NES connects to the internet. Users can then search for spercific location using both the NES controller and a special mic on pad 2.
As cool as an 8-bit version of Google Maps would be, seeing it is April 1st there is a good chance this is simply a very clever April Fools joke by Google. Still, if it does turn out to be true it would sure be an amazing thing for all the NES collector out there.
