Game Boy Color Dragon Quest Monsters Set For Nintendo 3DS Remake

Game-Boy-Color-Dragon-Warrior-Monsters-Set-For-Nintendo-3DS-RemakeThe world of remakes is alight! SquareEnix has once again realised the potential in its back catalogue by promising gamers a remake of the 1998 Game Boy Color title Dragon Quest Monsters (aka Dragon Warrior Monsters). Set to arrive on the Nintendo 3DS in 2012, our hopes are high for this re-imagining to grace European shores.

Dragon Quest Monsters was unfortunate to have been released after the global phenomenon that was Pokemon. Any game featuring monster raising was instantly considered to be a cheap knock-off of Nintendo's catch-em-up, while Enix's adventure was quite different.

Featuring randomly generated dungeons, a whole cast of raisable monsters and the in-depth breeding system introduced years before Pokemon considered it, Dragon Quest Monsters was an entirely different game in its own right which this upcoming remake will hopefully reiterate.

This re-imagining in 3D is planned for release in 2012 with the inclusion of monsters from the more recent Nintendo DS games, new stories and much more.
