First Look At Capcom’s Upcoming Resident Evil 1 HD Remake

Resident-Evil-1-Remake-HD-TrailerIf you thought Capcom’s survival horror adventure looked great on the Nintendo GameCube, get ready to be amazed. The very first clips of Resident Evil’s next-gen revival have surfaced online, showing off a whole new level of eerie, disturbing, and frighteningly good visuals.

Looking back at the very first Resident Evil title today, it’s almost amusing to know that those low-poly models of zombies trawling the mansion freaked us out. While they do still have a creepy vibe to them, they’re somewhat pale in comparison to what modern technology has spawned today.

Due out next year, fans of the series will be able to look forward to seeing the 2002 remake re-released in HD on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Steam.

So, instead of a grounds-up remake of the original game we get a port of the GameCube remake... BRILLIANT!

Capcom must be in a really tight spot...

Very disappointed with this. Was hoping for a modern reworking of the game with usable controls, possibly a rework in the style of RE4. Plus the animations look terrible, look at the eyes of the characters. Come on Capcom, I really want to buy your products, but you keep screwing them up, or recycling old stuff w/o many changes, or forgetting about great franchises that would still sell (megaman, powerstone).
