First Gameplay Demo Revealed For Upcoming Homebrew Mega Drive Platformer ‘Mega Cheril Perils’

Mega-Cheril-Perils-Gameplay-TrailerIf you’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of an all new Mega Drive title to kickstart the new year, you’re in luck. The Mojon Twins appear to be progressing well with their upcoming platformer Mega Cheril Perils, with their publisher 1985 Alternativo suggesting a release date is imminent.

Originally announced just a few months ago, Mega Cheril Perils is a follow up to an earlier homebrew title by The Mojon Twins for the ZX Spectrum. Making use of the power within the Sega Mega Drive, this all new release features some great pixel art, fantastic environments, and lush animation. The game itself puts you in control of a (naked) Cheril who is tasked with freezing time on each stage through a time capsule, which then allow you to dispose of the enemies on sight.

The recently released gameplay trailer provides plenty of action and showcases what we’ll soon be enjoying on our 16-bit consoles. The more important aspect of the video, however, is at the end with announcement that the game will be arriving any time soon. It is expected to see release on a physical cartridge, so look forward to adding another game to your Sega shelf.
