Fan Translation of WonderSwan Color's Final Fantasy Legend Remake

Makai-Toushi-SaGa-Wonderswan-Color-Final-Fantasy-Fan-TranslationThe last few months have been rather generous to retro gamers where fan translations are concerned. Makai Toushi SaGa, the WonderSwan Color remake of the original Nintendo Game Boy release; Final Fantasy Legend, is the latest addition to the online library of localised games we can all be enjoying.

Final Fantasy Legend originally made it's way onto the Game Boy back in 1989, a year before being localised for American audiences and completely avoiding a European release. This unfair trend to PAL gamers continued not only with the sequel Final Fantasy Legend II, but also with the later release of Final Fantasy Legend III.

The WonderSwan remake of the first game was not the only Final Fantasy game to arrive on the obscure Japanese handheld from Bandai. The first two Final Fantasy games also were granted remakes with special edition WonderSwan consoles appearing in the process. Sadly as expected, all of these games along with the majority of the WonderSwan library remain untranslated and out of reach for those unfamiliar with Japanese.

Translation group Tower Reversed released an updated fan translation patch for the WonderSwan's Makai Toushi SaGa (Final Fantasy Legend), which can now be downloaded and enjoyed. Please be aware that the Orijinaru mode hasn't been translated. Our only complaint though is that this fan translation will most likely have to be enjoyed via emulation. With the WonderSwan Wonder Magic Flash Card being so scarce and in demand, we can only hope someone such as Krikzz will step forward and offer an all in one SD Card solution for the WonderSwan fans worldwide.
