Fan-Made Ghosts’n Demons Game Celebrates 30 Years Of Capcom’s Arcade Classic

Ghosts-n-Demons-Fan-Made-Capcom-SequelBelieve it or not but Capcom’s timeless and tough arcade platformer Ghosts ‘n Goblins first hit arcades three decades ago. Continuing to be one of the most difficult games ever created, fans of the series have decided to celebrate where Sir Arthur last left off with an all new unofficial sequel known as Ghosts’n Demons.

Using the OpenBOR engine - a game making toolkit used to create Streets of Rage style clones with ease - homebrew developer BonusJZ has pushed the software to its limits. Having reworked the engine to better suit gameplay akin to Ghosts ‘n Goblins, this fan-made sequel also features pre-level mini-maps, visual scanlines, and all new challenges. Elsewhere you’ll find the same old challenges present in the game’s inspiration, along with the familiar graphics and action too.

Those interested in venturing out to rescue Prin Prin will be please to know that Ghosts’n Demons has been released online for free for Windows based systems.
