Remember the iconic top down shooter Alien Breed for the Commodore Amiga? Team 17 have decided to revive the floppy disk classic for iOS devices, offering both an updated HD version of the game and a true to the original pixel perfect copy of the timeless alien blaster.
Had you not grown up with a Commodore Amiga in your early gaming days then you're in luck. Alien Breed, which recently celebrated its twenty first birthday, was without a doubt one of the most influential titles on the home computer. Alien Breed spanned several releases on the Amiga before abruptly ending its reign with several steps into the world of primitive 3D.
Team 17's updated port features three different sets of maps from the original 1991 Alien Breed, Alien Breed Special Edition and the addition of an all new chapter in the series titled Alien Breed Convergence.
The iOS port of Alien Breed is due for release in August 2012 and will be available on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.
