Video Game Veteran Tim Schafer Confirmed For EGX Rezzed Appearance

Tim-Schafer-At-EGX-2018Any retro gamer accustomed to the fine art of pointing and clicking will know the name Tim Schafer. His illustrious career started by porting ‘Maniac Mansion’ to the Nintendo NES, but he is best know for being a talented writer and programmer of the iconic pirate-themed adventure ‘The Secret of Monkey Island’ (working alongside Ron Gilbert).

After the success of ‘Day of the Tentacle’ his time-travel comedy adventure, LucasArts offered Schafer relatively free rein to tell the stories he wished. This resulted in the biker adventure ‘Full Throttle’ and the astonishing ‘Grim Fandango’ ; considered by many to be the most epic point and click game ever created (despite a lack of on screen mouse pointer).

As LucasArts shifted away from Adventure games, Schafer started Double Fine creating cult classics ‘Psychonauts’ and ‘Brütal Legend’. He has also been credited as resurrecting the Adventure Game genre with ‘Broken Age’ after raising 3.3 million dollars on Kickstarter.

If any of these games pull at your heart strings you’ll be delighted to know that you can meet Tim Schafer, at EGX Rezzed - the PC and indie show run by Eurogamer and The Gamer Network. No one would consider it unlucky that Schafer will be on stage on Friday 13th April discuss with Oli Welsh a 30 year career and some of his 30 games .

But don’t worry if you can’t attend as the session will be streamed live on Twitch and available to watch later on EGX’s YouTube channel.
