[Event] Video Game Market 2 - UK's Biggest Gaming Sales Fair Kicks Off 7th February

Video-Game-Market-2-7th-Feb-2015It’s nearly here, the Video Game Market 2! With less than two weeks to go until we’ll be feasting our eyes on a venue filled to the brim with retro game sellers and specialists, but the more important question is, are you ready? With over 100 tables loaded with the classics, merchandise, gear, and more, this is one event you don’t want to miss.

If you’re only just tuning in to the news, RetroCollect has begun hosting its very own events under the Video Game Market name. Booking an entire venue out, our aim is to provide gamers with the equivalent of a indoor car boot sale with nothing but video games on show - running all day long.

Last year’s event was a huge success, leaving us to make things even bigger this time round with more space, more sellers, and more bargains! This year’s Video Game Market 2 is due to kick off on Saturday 7th February 2015 at Leeds Town Hall, open from 11am until 7pm.

To help us along with our planning, Console Passion have very kindly sponsored the event, allowing us to spread out into the new and improved larger space. Also taking up a pitch at the event, you can expect to see Console Passion’s usual array of shelving units filled with video games, consoles, and just about everything else they offer.

So then, what can gamers expect from the Video Game Market 2 apart from an empty wallet at the end of the day?

Confirmed Sellers

Video Game Specialists

With a name like the Video Game Market, there better be some good games up for grabs! You’ll be pleased to know the largest selection of traders on the day is made up of specialist game sellers - from those who run shops full-time, to eBay powersellers bringing their stock into the real world. Needless to say you’ll be well catered for with plenty of bargains and rarities on offer too.

Custom Game Consoles & Arcade Machines

Next up we have a nice range of talent that customise and craft video games into something new. From backlit Game Boy handhelds, to custom painted Sega Mega Drives and built-from-scratch Arcade Machines, don’t be too surprised if you find yourself leaving with some new hardware on the day.

Gaming Merchandise, Clothing & Art

Knowing full well that it isn’t just about the games themselves, we’ve also secured several sellers who specialise in gaming merchandise and artist creations. So whether you’re looking for a luxurious framed print for your games room, or yet another addition to your Minecraft figure collection, you’re in luck.

Forum Sellers & Collection Clearouts

And last but not least, we’re giving everyone else (who doesn’t run a game shop or equivalent) a chance to pass on their gaming goods. From RetroCollect forum members selling off their spares, to others in the community parting with their collections, expect to see many of the bargains on offer on these very stalls.

Level up! Leeds Town Hall - Venue Upgrade

In the very early stages of planning the Video Game Market 2, we made sure to take on board the feedback we received. This in turn saw us not only securing last year’s basement venue, but also branching out into the Town Hall’s spacious Victoria Hall, on the floor above.

In an attempt to better our currently plans further, we recently jumped onto the opportunity to take over the entire first floor of the event, using the surrounding rooms and corridors around the Victoria Hall, instead of the basement. This will see yet another increase in the space available, along with room to move around and browse at your leisure.

Floor plans regarding this upgrade showing the new locations of sellers will be handed out on the day - so be sure to scout out that one seller you’re looking for and get there first.

It all starts at 7th February 11am - 7pm: No Tickets Needed

With all of this to look forward to, all you need to do is get yourself to Leeds Town Hall on Saturday 7th February anytime after 11am. Entry to the Video Game Market is just £1 on the door, and you’ll be given an all day wristband pass. With the event running until 7pm, you’re more than free to come back for a second look at any point in the day, as long as your wristband is shown.
