English Fan Translation Patch In Development For Game Boy Advance RPG ‘Magical Vacation’

Magical-Vacation-Fan-Translation-In-DevelopmentAs far as fan translations for older games go, there are very few stand out titles for the earlier systems which are still in need of localisation. One glaring omission from the ROM hacking scene however, is an English language patch for the Japanese exclusive Game Boy Advance adventure Magical Vacation - a title which is finally being worked on.

If you’re unfamiliar with Magical Vacation, the game was heavily hyped in the run up to the Game Boy Advance’s worldwide release. The absolutely stunning and vivid visuals had plenty of RPG fans closely watching, as it was safe to say that Magical Vacation would be the first of many portable Super Nintendo styled quests. Unfortunately though, it remained an import only title with plenty of gamers desperate to sample the game in English.

Moving forward the team behind the game did manage to get the sequel hitting worldwide shores on the Nintendo DS in Magical Starsign. That said, the developers Brownie Brown have since become known for their amazing work on Mother 3 - another Japanese exclusive, but luckily one that has been translated.

As of speaking a user of the ROMHacking.net forums is working away at translating Magical Vacation into English. Although this much needed patch is yet to be released, plenty of screenshots showcasing the upcoming translation have since been shared. Needless to say we’re in for a treat, and we could finally be playing this hidden gem on the Game Boy Advance as early as June.

It's always great to see the GBA get some translation love. Now, if somebody could get to F-Zero Climax and the Starfy games done that would be great. Ta. :P
