Early Russian Prototype Of 'Abe's Exoddus' Surfaces Online

Early-Prototype-Of-Abes-Exoddus-Surfaces-For-DownloadThe preservation of video games is an all important issue and one that shouldn't end with retail releases. The latest unfinished video game code to be immortalised and archived for future generations is from the Sony PlayStation's iconic sequel to Abe's Oddysee - Abe's Exoddus.

The most unusual aspect to this recent leak is that not only did this beta copy of Abe's Exoddus surface on a Russian messageboard, but it also features in-game menus in Russian too.

That, however, is not the most interesting part. Those well acquainted with Abe's adventures will start to notice various differences to the graphics and level layouts, potentially offering more playability to the 1998 classic.

A download link for this unfinished Russian version of the game has since surfaced online, allowing those those wanting to revisit Soulstorm Brewery in a new light.

This is not a beta version. This is just a crappy translated version of original Abe's exoddus.
I'm russian. In 90s we didn't have any PS1 games officialy released here. All PS1 consoles were modchipped and all the games were pirated.
And of course, pirates tried to translate the games. Because they didn't have access to source code, many localizations were really bad quality: a lot of bugs and glitches in games, ugly fonts, etc.
