Early Development Turok 3 Prototype Nintendo 64 ROM Surfaces

Turok-3-Prototype-ROMAnother unfinished video game ROM has surfaced online for the preservationists and curiosity hunters to enjoy - an early development of Acclaim's third entity in the Turok series. This work in progress version of the Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion features hidden menus, unusual options and plenty to explore - if you're into that kind of thing.

This prototype Nintendo 64 ROM comes courtesy of the website Micro 64, a site dedicated to archiving the 64-bit console's history. Originally, Micro 64 had planned to create a full write up on the differences between this early development version of Turok 3 and the retail release, however, best decided that the retro gaming community could help out with the documentation process.

Taking a quick look at what Micro 64 have documented already, the game's additional hidden menus seems to offer a level of control over the game's graphics and layout, along with even the choice of disabling the in-game blood. While this may not be enough to entice every retro gamer into downloading this prototype, those amongst us who love this kind of stuff will be well served.
