Early Development Preview Of 'Half Life' Leaks Online

Early-Development-Preview-Of-Half-Life-Leaks-OnlineIn 1998 Valve revolutionised the first person shooter genre with their incredibly intuitive adventure Half Life. While many fans of the series are long awaiting the third title in the series, those who fondly remember the original may want to revisit their past as an early development version of the title has just leaked online.

Two weeks ago a user on the social news website Reddit posted up a photograph of a press preview disc labelled up as being 'Half Life Alpha' dated 9/8/97. This preview disc dating a year prior to its retail release became the centre of an on-going debate regarding its authenticity, cast away as being a gaming-bait-trap by many.

Today, however, Reddit user jackaljayzer returned to silence the doubters.

As an update to his original post, jackaljayzer posted a follow up to his photograph with links to download this early preview of Valve's shooter. This early build features very little of the game we know and love, yet remains a rather interesting curiosity. One of the included maps titled 'techdemo' takes the player through the various technical achievements Valve had accomplished ahead of the game's release. Another playable aspect to Half Life Alpha is the multiplayer deathmatch feature.
