EA Celebrates 20 Years of 'Need For Speed' Racing

Need-For-Speed-20th-AnniversaryIt's hard to imagine that nearly twenty years ago we were first sampling the birth of what would soon become the most successful racing game series of all time. Born onto the Panasonic 3DO and then ported to the Saturn and PlayStation, Need For Speed drifted into the gaming world in 1994 and EA have decided to celebrate its success.

By pure coincidence, twenty Need For Speed games have been released in the last two decades, spanning just about every console from the mid-nineties onwards. With greats such as Need For Speed III Hot Pursuit and Need For Speed Underground, just about every one of us has enjoyed one of EA's creations, and probably will for quite some time.

While Need For Speed's true birthday won't be here until late August, we won't deny any company willing to celebrate their heritage early - so join as we take a look back over the shifts up and down through the years.

So tell us, what was your favourite Need For Speed game?

As much as I like racing games, I really hate EA, and the last NFS I played was the demo for NFS II on PC.
