Dragon Quest 25th Anniversary Collection Trailer Looks Retrotastic

Dragon_Quest_25th_Anniversary_Collection_Trailer_Looks_RetrotasticSaying Japan gets all the best releases is a rather accurate statement from any seasoned gamer. With the 25th Anniversary of Dragon Quest approaching, SquareEnix are releasing a collection of the first three games on the Nintendo Wii. Today, a trailer was released showing off what the West might never enjoy.

This upcoming collection not only features the first three original Nintendo NES adventures, but also the fantastic Super Nintendo remakes as well. These games are set to be emulated on the Nintendo Wii, housed in what appears to be a rather fancy looking Dragon Quest interface. Also included in the bundle is a selection of Dragon Quest anime cutscenes/shorts and an interactive treasure chest packed with multimedia from the series.

Sadly though, as we continue to remind you, no release date outside of Japan has been set nor even rumoured. And if that wasn't enough to upset you, the first run of copies released into the wild will come bundled with a replica mini medal, the treasure all Dragon Quest fans will be well accustomed to hunting.

It's just not logical to not release it over here, I mean, they started to get us addicted to the later parts, why not introduce the first games in the series over here? Could be a great little money maker!

Think they might put them on the Virtual Console or something though, but that'd be kinda lame.

I would love for this to come to Europe but if it doesn't, I really need to find somewhere where I can guarantee to receive the coin with my order!

EDIT: I found somewhere to buy the first press but after thinking about it, I only want the coin, not the games.

Not a huge DQ fan myself but this would be so tempting.
