Metroid II: Return of Samus was an ambitious take on Samus' adventures, only hindered by the hardware it was created for. The limitations of the Game Boy's monochromatic display hampered what was both a compelling journey and thoughtful game design - something the fan-made PC project AM2R is set to resolve.
This Metroid II: Return of Samus remake is the hard labour of one dedicated Metroid fan, who has been working over the last six years to recreate the 1991 space-adventure on the PC. Created using GameMaker, AM2R (Another Metroid 2 Remake) features full colour interpretations of the once lifeless grey corridoors of SR388, using the Game Boy Advance release Metroid Zero Mission as inspiration.
It isn't just the general look and feel, however, that has an overhaul. AM2R also features a arranged soundtrack complete with the familiar jingles and brand new game mechanics. Something you'll be able to enjoy yourself given that a demo of AM2R has just been released for download.
