Whilst most fan-made projects tend to revitalise and update old games into a more modern form, there are several projects which like to turn things upside down. The Curse of Monkey Island Demake project is one of these, converting the crisp cartoon style of the third game in the series back to its pixelated roots.
A demake of Monkey Island 3 had already been in progress by several fanatics, but sadly came to an end in November 2011. The project was left open for others to continue and has thankfully picked up by another enthusiast recently. A Spanish coder who goes by the username Edgar_España on the Adventure Game Studio forums recently announced the project's revival and showcased a wealth of visual updates.
As of speaking the game is only in Spanish, however, an English version has been confirmed. The project is now looking for further participants, mainly in the sound department, to help get the ball rolling once more.
