Although the Microsoft Xbox was far from a success in Japan, it did have a few exclusive hidden gems. Metal Wolf Chaos is one of these obscurities often met by a flurry of bids at auction. Despite being somewhat playable in Japanese already, it has received a much needed fan translation patch.
The 2004 release developed by From Software has since become a cult hit thanks to its bizarre plot placing the player in control of the president of the United States and his over-powered mech-armour. This, however, is only a fraction of the chaos within this game- bundled with voice acting which could rival the first Resident Evil title, over the top action and explosives, and somewhat lifelike appearances from true presidential candidates- which make this one title you don’t want to miss.
With this in mind, what better than to celebrate the tenth birthday of the Xbox in Europe by enjoying this jaw dropping title in English. Whilst most of the in-game action is easily enjoyed despite being in Japanese, the recent fan translation patch made available takes away the need to guess your way through menus and in-game text, allowing you to focus on the patriotic action packed gameplay.

To apply this English translation patch to Metal Wolf Chaos, you’ll be needing some prior experience with a homebrew enabled Xbox, FTP access, and obviously legal access to the original game disc.
