Commodore Amiga Goes Treasure Hunting In New Homebrew Release 'Solid Gold'

Commodore-Amiga-Solid-GoldThe Amiga is well known for its European-born platformers, an export to be proud of even decades after the computer's initial launch. Two German siblings, Frank and Gerrit Wille of Night Owl Design, are hoping to continue this platforming legacy and have released an all new homebrew adventure for Commodore's system - Solid Gold.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of the timeless Turrican, fabled Giana Sisters and devillish Rick Dangerous, Solid Gold is a treasure hunting platformer offering four expansive worlds and the traditional jump and run action we all know and love. As you'd expect, Night Owl Design's work plays to the computer's strengths with a catchy soundtrack and impressive visuals by Amiga standards - and luckily enough for us, Solid Gold has been released for free online as a downloadable ADF.

Solid Gold (Amiga Homebrew) Gameplay

According to Amiga-News.de, Solid Gold requires a Commodore Amiga with at least one Megabyte RAM (512 KB Chip, 512 KB Fast) as well as Kickstart 1.2 or higher. Furthermore a commercial release of the game on floppy disk is expected, however, no further information is known regarding this as of yet.
