Codemaster's Cannon Fodder 3 Gameplay Footage Trailer

Cannon-Fodder-3-Codemasters-Gameplay-TrailerIn January news arrived that the Commodore Amiga classic Cannon Fodder was set to return in an all new sequel. The news however stated that the new owners of the series; Codemasters, would only be releasing the game on the PC & Xbox 360 in Russia of all places.

Having caught wind of the news earlier this year, it was posted on the RetroCollect forums remaining surrounded in confusion. With Cannon Fodder holding such a sensational reputation from the 90's the decision to restrict a worldwide release seems almost absurd. Many are holding out in hope that the game will slowly make it's way out of Russia, while offering a bundled in English language option.

The new gameplay trailer features what appears to be 'true to the classic' gameplay, alongside the revival of chunky army sprites and dramatic explosions. Whether or not the game will hold up to the Amiga classic, only time will tell.

Until more is known, here is the new trailer from Codemasters:
