Cinemaware's Unreleased Mega Drive Shooter 'It Came From The Desert' Due For Cartridge Debut

It-Came-From-The-Desert-The-Action-Game-Coming-To-Sega-Mega-Drive-and-GenesisIn 1990 Cinemaware were due to release a top-down action alternative to their home computer adventure It Came From The Desert on Sega Mega Drive. While this title may have skipped out on release back then, the original developers have teamed up with Watermelon to give this long lost title its debut on cartridge 24 years later.

Some retro gamers may already be familiar with It Came From The Desert: The Action Game, as Cinemaware actually made their unreleased title available to download as a ROM many years ago. The game itself is very different to the Amiga and MS-DOS mouse-driven-adventures, as the Mega Drive / Genesis version is very much a free-roaming shooter packed with countless enemies to conquer.

Arriving as a limited edition in a Sega styled hard shell case, It Came From The Desert will include everything you'd expect from a Mega Drive release - a cartridge, manual and poster. Cinemaware are currently taking email registrations for those who want to be notified when the pre-ordering process opening, however, release is scheduled for sometime closer to Christmas this year.
