Chiptune Musician 'Note!' Releases Latest Album Color Mechanica On Sega Mega CD Compatible Disc

Color-Mechanica-Note-Sega-CDThe memorable bleeps and bloops of our gaming past have since evolved into an all new genre of music known as chiptune. The art of using old video game hardware and custom software to create music has become a roaring success amongst the gaming community, with many artists looking for new ways to manipulate retro consoles. The latest album released by Note! in the chiptune scene known as Color Mechanica not only features Game Boy driven audio, but can also be played back on the Mega CD with accompanying on-screen visuals.

This incredible feat features all kinds of demoscene styled graphics, full motion video sequences and dance inspired scenes, all of which compliment this fantastic chiptune soundtrack. The album's page on bandcamp also suggests that the on-screen fun can also be manipulated by those listening by 'plugging in a second controller'.

The Sega Mega CD compatible version of Note!'s latest album can be bought for just $15 via Bandcamp, although be quick - this pressing is limited to a mere 25 discs.

Update: Note! recently got in touch with RetroCollect to state that this disc is only compatible with American Sega CD units. It does, however, work in emulators and possibly on PAL or Japanese hardware using CD-X or Mega-Cart adapters (currently untested).
