Castlevania Symphony of the Night Arrives On The PlayStation Store

Castlevania-Symphony-of-the-Night-Arrives-On-The-PlayStation-StoreIf you've been put off by the current asking price for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on eBay, you're finally in luck. Sony have released the PlayStation 1 classic and potentially best Castlevania to date on the PlayStation store - ready to be enjoyed on your PSP or PlayStation 3.

It goes without saying that anyone who considers themselves to be a retro gamer needs to sample Konami's 1997 output on Sony's 32-bit console. The Japanese developer proved that a successful 2D title could be born into a polygon-dominant era, without needing to rely on the console's untapped power.

Sales for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, however, suggested that it was far from the classic we know and love today. While the title did eventually pick up and become a popular seller via word of mouth, it could almost be suggested that Konami had moved on to pastures new - hence the lack of copies available in the wild today.

With stunning pixel art, an atmospheric soundtrack and a challenging adventure spanning multiple hours, we very much recommend you consider gifting your Sony hardware with this new release for the Christmas holidays. You won't regret it at £7.99 given it usually sells for around £100 upwards at auction.

In the US and Japan, yes. This is for the EU PSN store.

We're a bit behind, we know.

SOTN is easily my favorite PSX game and it's in my top five of favorites for any system. I got the Greatest Hits version, a year or so after it came out, for $20. That's probably what I would sell it for...if I ever wanted to sell it.

yeah I only paid $15 for mine. But it was the disk only, no manual or case. One of the best games ever though!
