Capcom’s Resident Evil Set For Next Gen REmake In 2015

Resident-Evil-1-Remake-Set-For-Next-Gen-ConsolesIn 2002 Capcom resurrected the PlayStation survival horror hit on the Nintendo Gamecube with all new visuals, twists, and turns. Thirteen years later, it appears that the Resident Evil remake is now being brought to modern consoles with even more gruesome detail than ever before.

Set to be released as a digital-download-only title in 2015, the Resident Evil 1 REmake will be hitting the PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. This all new port will offer 1080p visuals and spooky 5.1 surround sound, further detailing those scary moment in the game’s story.

Capcom have also added in a few new graphical treats such as being able to switch between a 4:3 and 16:9 viewport, to some video modes scrolling the camera slightly to adopt to the new look.

Despite the original remake being a Nintendo Gamecube exclusive, the title looks set to miss out on a Nintendo Wii U release for some reason. Nevertheless the game’s producers Tetsuya Kitabayashi and Yoshiaki Hirabyashi have plenty to say about the game below.

There's also going to be a limited edition physical release, only in Japan and only for the PS3

Even though I played through REmake for the first time recently, I'm looking forward to this. Thing is, it still looks impressive today!

Gonna be badass in hi-def. A must buy for all horror fans for sure. To be able to play this game with a PS4 controller? Insanely cool! :-)

I am not a fan of Download only games... but I will make an exception for this one. I still have all the games on my GCN and still to this day love the facelift. Can't wait so see if this really looks much better or if it's just slightly better because of the resolution.
