Brand New Super Mario 64 Level Pack ROM Hack ‘Blast Off’ Coming Soon

Super-Mario-Blast-Off-Nintendo-64-ROM-HackThe retro gaming community never ceases to amaze us. From custom built aftermarket hardware to brand new releases for old systems, there’s always something to talk about in the classic gaming world. The latest of these additions is a Super Mario 64 ROM hack known as Super Mario Blast Off which brings some brand new levels to the Nintendo 64 classic.

While many will speak fondly of Super Mario Sunshine on the Nintendo Gamecube, the majority of gamers were hoping for a more vanilla follow up to the timeless Super Mario 64. As a result fans have since returned to the 64-bit platformer and created their very own take on the classic with all new levels being introduced. The latest of these ROM hacks to be announced is Super Mario Blast Off, a fully-fledged hack of the original game introducing new visuals, environments, and audio.

Although a complete patch is yet to be released for gamers to experience Super Mario Blast Off, the team behind the upcoming ROM hack have revealed several videos and a playable demo of their work in progress. From Dry Dusty Dunes to Bob-Omb Bayside, this yet-to-be-released fan made Super Mario 64 ROM hack looks set to provide some fantastic new challenges through well designed custom locations. Promising to offer 25 new levels and 120 stars to collect, this is one ROM hack you’ll want to keep your eye on.

A release date for the completed patch is yet to be confirmed, as is whether or not the hack is compatible with the original hardware through flash cartridges. As for now though a demo of Super Mario Blast Off has been released for those wanting to give it a go.
