Brand New Sega Dreamcast FPS 'Hypertension: Harmony of Darkness' Coming Soon

Hypertension-Sega-Dreamcast-TrailerThe Sega Dreamcast homebrew scene is without a doubt one of the best around. Now joining the vast selection of scrolling shooters and addictive puzzles is a blood packed first person shooter with plenty of promise - Hypertension: Harmony of Darkness.

Inspired by MS-DOS first person shooters such as Blood and Shadow Warrior, Hypertension: Harmony of Darkness is anything but shy when it comes to action and guts. Using an engine built from the source code of Doom, this brand new Sega Dreamcast title features full 3D environments and enemies, along with some impressive visuals by homebrew standards.

A newly released trailer for this in-development title showcases plenty of footage of in-game action, along with several key features of the game - including co-operative split screen multiplayer - being detailed within. Another unusual addition to this title is that it is set to offer the very first video game appearance to the internet cartoon protagonist, Salad Fingers.

Homebrew publishers Goat Store Publishing have teamed up with the developers behind Hypertension: Harmony of Darkness, Isotope Studios and TDGMods, and plan to release the game on a physical disc later this year.

Looks like my sort of game! Another new DC release to add to the list for this year; when the current gen are being blasted for not having enough new games, it's heart warming to know that 12 years after it's death, the DC is still going strong.

As mentioned looks a lot like Blood which is never a bad thing. I wonder if it will be as difficult.
