Brand New PC Engine Homebrew Insect-Em-Up 'Bug Hunt'

Bug-Hunt-PC-Engine-HomebrewAlso arriving from the NeoFlash coding competition this year is a homebrew arcade adventure for the PC Engine, one which will have you licking your lips. Bug Hunt is without a doubt the first and only frog simulator for NEC's 8-bit console, one tasking you with the aim of gobbling up as many flies as possible whilst ensuring your extended tongue doesn't lick up any trouble.

Like the previous Neoflash homebrew entry we reported on, this PC Engine creation is also simplistic in its approach yet highly addictive. The high-score amassing gameplay is accompanied by sprite artwork you'd expect to see in Taito's Nintendo NES ports and a chiptune soundtrack which utilises the PC Engine's unique sound chip.

Should you be interested in gifting your PC Engine or TurboGrafx-16 a dose of new software, you'll be pleased to know that Bug Hunt has been made available as a free downloadable ROM file - one which can either be enjoyed in an emulator or on the original hardware using a Turbo Everdrive.
