Brand New Nintendo NES Adventure 'Mystic Searches' Hits Kickstarter

Mystic-Searches-Announced-for-Nintendo-NESRemember the days when we designed our own video games on paper and fantasised about our creations translating into pixels? Well one inspired gamer recently found his childhood drawings and decided it was about time he did his past justice. Turning to Kickstarter, Joe Granato has not only set out to create his dream game Mystic Searches for the Nintendo NES, but also a documentary detailing the process, along with tutorials on how to make retro games yourself.

Scanning over the original documents on Mystic Searches dating back to 1987, Granato realised that the vast array of tools available at his fingertips today could really make his dream a reality. Currently seeking $36,000 through pledges, The New 8-Bit Heroes Kickstarter has assembled a team of talented artists, musicans, coders, and writers to make sure this video game sees the light of day.

Instead of just sticking to the original hardware from all those years ago, The New 8-Bit Heroes Kickstarter is going bold and ambitious with the aim of creating an accompanying game for modern platforms. Where this modern title differs to other similar releases is that it will be housed on USB memory contained within the Nintendo NES game cartridge - with the ability to communicate with the 8-bit game and unlock new features as you progress.

Needless to say there is a lot of promise behind this Kickstarter, especially for fans of Nintendo's early hardware. Those wanting to get their hands on the title will need to pledge $50 or more for an original game cartridge, while those more interested in the documentary behind the game need only donate $15.
