Bomberman Set To Blast Onto Colecovision In ‘RobeeBlaster’ Homebrew

RobeeBlaster-Bomberman-for-ColecovisionLike Tetris and Pac-Man, it’s safe to say that every gaming console out there needs a helping of the manic multiplayer action Bomberman brings. Drawing inspiration from the Super Nintendo and Mega Drive releases from the series, a well known 16-bit developer is going back to his vintage gaming roots to port Hudson Soft’s bomb-em-up to the Colecovision in RobeeBlaster.

Alekmaul who’s known for his Super Nintendo releases Uwol Quest for Money and Mazeam Challenge is no stranger in the homebrew community. Having continually provided new experiences and adventures for the retro gaming community, it looks like we’re set for another with his upcoming RobeeBlaster.

Featuring similar visuals to the Nintendo NES version of Bomberman, this upcoming Colecovision port of Bomberman is set to offer quite a lot. Not only will it bring along the monster-blasting single player mode, but also the four-player ready battle mode we’ve grown to love on other consoles. This will be made possible through a new cable that’s also in development to help connect an additional two control pads to the system.

Until we hear more on this upcoming Bomberman port, be sure to check out this quick sample of the game’s battle mode in action.
