BB4CPC - A New Adaptation Of Bubble Bobble For The Amstrad CPC

BB4CPC-A-New-Adaptation-Of-Bubble-Bobble-For-The-Amstrad-CPCAmstrad CPC owners have often been left frustrated with the lackluster port of Taito's classic Bubble Bobble, so much so that one dedicated fan decided to make a difference. BB4CPC is CNGSOFT's re-adaptation of the 1986 arcade game, offering a much more polished and responsive approach to the game.

Given that Bubble Bobble has been ported to just about every game console going, it's no surprise CPC owners have been desiring a version of the game which makes better use of the fantastic hardware. BB4CPC which was in development since 2008, aims to correct this by proving to be the best 8-bit home computer version of the game to date.

The new remake of the game can be downloaded straight from the BB4CPC homepage by clicking on the logo, which is ready to play in an Amstrad CPC emulator or on the original hardware should you have the necessary tools to hand.

Looks good, but I'd still venture the C64 version is better ;)

Having just played the arcade original PCB, followed by the BB4CPC then the C64 version, I can honestly say the C64 version is nowhere near as good as this new BB4CPC version.

Back in it's day, I adored the C64 version, and actually completed it with my best mate at school. But time marches on, and the work in matching the arcade version is very apparent in BB4CPC. It's a great homage to the original.

This port looks gorgeous! But isn't there already a Bubble Bobble port for the Amstrad Cpc? Retrogamer issiue 95 wrote about this old port but was not impressed with it but that it was a decent conversion. So now there are two versions of Bubble Bobble with BB4CPC's release?

Here is a longplay of the old Bubble Bobble for the Amstrad CPC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiQlR_1PCtI
