Bandai-Namco Announce ‘Pac-Man 256’ Endless Runner For Android & iOS

PacMan-256-Announced-By-NamcoWe all know and love the classic coin-op Pac-Man, but how would the game play out as an endless eat-em-up today? Bandai-Namco have teamed up with mobile developers Hipster Whale (better known for their Crossy Road) to gift Pac-Man an all new adventure on Android and iOS in Pac-Man 256.

Staying true to the original title, Pac-Man 256 features the exact same gameplay we’re all familiar with, but with a few added twists. Instead of clearing levels, the game will be endless with never-ending dots to munch, leaving only the ghosts in play and a whole new obstacle to prevent your progress. The name of the game is a direct reference to the kill screen in Pac-Man which is achieved by reaching the highest possible level of the game. The added obstacle is a direct reference to this with the bottom portion of the screen being a glitched up mess slowly absorbing Pac-Man’s world - something you’ll no doubt notice is taken from the arcade version’s kill screen.

Pac-Man 256 is due to be released on both Android and iOS devices this summer.
