ATGames To Release 'Intellivision Flashback' Plug 'n' Play

Intellivision-Flashback-Pre-OrderIf you've ever wanted to delve into the Intellivision back catalogue without needing to start yet another classic collection, you're now in luck. The same manufacturers who brought us the Atari Flashback and Sega Mega Drive clones is back, with the Intellivision Flashback Plug 'n' Play System.

Although the company behind this unit has been rather tight lipped about it over time, pre-orders for the console have just opened up on the North American Toys 'R' Us online store. Priced up at the low cost of $39.99, this ready to go system features a similar design to its older sibling, coming with a faux-wood accent and phone-keypad style controllers.

Due for release in early October, those interested in enjoying the Intellivision once more (or even discovering it for the first time) will be pleased to know that the Flashback comes with a massive 60 games built in and controller overlays reminiscent of the console's past.

Judging by my experience of the Atari Flashback 3

One can only hope that out of these 60 games maybe more than 5 of them are actually good. Or just skip the built in games and just offer an sd card slot to load games onto.
