Atari 2600 Emulator With Activision Retro Games Hidden In Call Of Duty: Black Ops II

atari-2600-emulator-a-activision-retro-games-hidden-in-call-of-duty-black-ops-iiOkay, so a story about Call of Duty: Black Ops II was possibly the last thing you'd expect to see on the frontpage of RetroCollect, however, it seems Activision has snuck in a little Easter egg for classic gamers. After meeting some bizarre requirements, a certain map will open up access to a large television set equipped with an Atari 2600 emulator and games.

Given it's been over half a year since April Fool's day, this is anything but a joke. While we were all led to believe Activision had forgotten about their colourful past as leading Atari software developers, their hidden homage to their classic gaming library is quite the eye opener.

Those who happen to have Call of Duty: Black Ops II hoping to catch a glimpse of these classic titles will need to head on over to the multiplayer Nuketown 2025 map. There gamers will need to race around and pop the heads off every mannequin decorating the map within a minute and a half.

After completing the task at hand, the television set located nearby will sport the Acitvision logo and the option to play either Pitfall II, H.E.R.O., River Raid or Kaboom.

Nice - there was a similar Easter Egg in the first game too - you may recall that you can unlock a great little zombie themed twin-stick shooter game.in the original Black Ops

Great choices of games too - I loved H.E.R.O. as a kid.
